Palau’s National Government Assets Subjected To Audit Taskforce recommends AG take action over damaged property

KOROR, Palau (Island Times, May 6, 2013) – The Inventory Task Force (TF) has completed an audit of all property of Palau’s national government, including a review of purchase orders and external grants from the last four years.
In its report submitted to President Remengesau Jr. dated April 2, the TF has verified capitalized assets consisting of vehicles, outboard engines, generators, boat trailers and farm equipment and non-capitalized assets consisting of computers, laptops, iPods, iPads and some high-end iPhones.
The TF went out to each ministry to verify existence of the assets.
The report showed there were unlawful removal and possession of government property.
The TF recommended that a "Hot Line" be established in the Office of the Ombudsman or other appropriate office to allow anyone in the community...
