HONOLULU, Hawai‘i (January 6, 2002) -- Terrorism will likely be a top issue among more than 110 delegates from 25 nations attending the 10th Annual Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum Jan. 6-9 in Honolulu.
Dennis Hastert, speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, will give opening remarks Monday to national legislators from Asia, the Pacific Islands, Canada, Mexico and South America. James Kelly, assistant secretary of state for Asian and Pacific Affairs, will also speak.
Tom Daschle, U.S. Senate majority leader, will give remarks on Tuesday, followed by Adm. Dennis Blair, commander-in-chief of the U.S. Pacific command.
David Sanger, White House correspondent for The New York Times, will also address the forum.
