RAROTONGA, Cook Islands (May 1, 2000 – Cook Islands News)---Investing in the Cook Islands is not a good idea, according to an American management consultant, William Constandse.
He advised the backers of a proposed garment factory, employing 400 workers, not to establish here.
"We could have advised him that it was bound to fail," Constandse quotes a professor of business administration, Joshua B. Weinberg, as saying.
Constandse last week refused to name the backers of the proposed garment factory, telling Cook Islands News that their names are "confidential."
APPRAISAL
Weinberg is one of four professors quoted by Constandse in his 19-page "appraisal of foreign investment opportunities in the Cook Islands."
Nor did Constandse answer Cook Islands News questions about where the professors work. Or confirm whether the professors had ever been to the Cook Islands.
