SAIPAN, CNMI (Marianas Variety, June 13) – The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Department of Public Health has been conducting mass vaccinations in the CNMI after receiving 8,000 doses of flu shots from the Joint Task Force-Homeland Defense, according to the department’s public information officer, Roxanne Diaz.
Diaz said in an interview on Monday that the dosages came from the Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii.
She said 6,290 flu shots for adults and 1,860 for children are available in the CNMI.
This allows Public Health to provide free vaccines to CNMI residents.
Last week, personnel of the Department of Public Safety got their flu shots.
Diaz said they are now distributing the vaccines to health centers on Rota, Tinian as well as private clinics.
