Justice Malosi first woman to preside in Supreme Court

APIA, Samoa (Talamua, March 27, 2013) – New Supreme Court Judge, Justice Ida Malosi, presided over her first case in Samoa yesterday.
Justice Malosi is the first woman judge to preside in the Supreme Court of Samoa.
Two local women lawyers both agreed that having a woman Judge in the Supreme Court is "like a new flower blooming from the garden."
A member of the public, Lesa Farani Posala, who entered the new Judge’s courtroom out of curiosity said, "She has a calm face but when she speaks, there’s strictness and toughness in her voice."
Justice Malosi is the first Samoan woman to become a judge in New Zealand.
Chief Executive Officer of Justice, Masinalupe Tusipa Masinalupe, said Justice Malosi will work for three months as a Supreme Court judge.
