FSM PIONEER LEGISLATOR SETIK DIES IN HONOLULU

HONOLULU, Hawaii (September 3, 1997 - PIDP/CPIS)---One of the Federated States of Micronesia's pioneer legislators and most prominent businessmen, Raymond Setik, who died last month in Honolulu of cancer, will return home today for burial Friday.

Setik represented Chuuk in the former Congress of Micronesia and was among the first 14 representatives to serve in the Federated States of Micronesia's Congress after self-government in 1979. In recent years, he has been involved in a variety of FSM hotel, restaurant, and real estate businesses.

Setik's remains, according to FSM Consul General in Honolulu, Kasio Mida, will be flown to Guam today and then on to his home island of Chuuk for burial on Friday.

Among those who will attend the funeral is FSM President Jacob Nena.
