PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea (September 10, 1997 - PACNEWS)--- Papua New Guinea's East New Britain Province Health Division has warned that some health centers in the province may be forced to close if the current drought continues.

Provincial Health Advisor Bernard Lukara says some centers already have run out of water, adding that he does not have the resources to continue to cart additional water supplies to them and may have to close the center if the drought continues.

Lukara strongly urged the community governments in the province to assist the health centers in obtaining water, to ensure they remain open to help those in need.
