SUVA, Fiji---A Fiji government report says privatization of the country's Civil Aviation Authority will earn the government about $55 million.

A ministerial committee is developing plans to implement the change, but there is strong opposition from the Fiji Public Service Association.

Association General Secretary Mahendra Chaudhry says selling off the aviation authority to private businessmen would be a mistake, resulting in the loss of hundreds of jobs.
