HEAD OF FIJI'S AIR PACIFIC

SUVA, Fiji (October 22, 1997 - PACNEWS)---Fiji's international airline, Air Pacific, has named Michael McQuay, Executive Vice President - Operations and Chief Operating Officer of Hawaiian Airlines for the past year and a half, its new Managing Director and Chief Executive.

McQuay, who was appointed to a five year contract, will take over Air Pacific on December 1. He replaces Andrew Drysdale who left the airline for an executive position with Captain Cook Cruises in Australia.

Air Pacific's Chairman, Gerald Barrack, says he is confident McQuay will continue the development and expansion of the Fiji airline in accordance with the company's plans to introduce new aircraft to its fleet and improve performance and profitability.

Air Pacific will begin new weekly service between Nadi, Fiji and Honolulu on Monday, October 27.
