EDINBURGH, Scotland (October 27, 1997 - Radio Australia/PIDP/CPIS)--- Samoa's Prime Minister, Tofilau Eti Alesana, who is attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Edinburgh, Scotland, has been admitted to the hospital with a leg infection.

A British government spokesman says the Prime Minister is expected to remain hospitalized for a day or two to receive treatment for the condition which, apparently, is not serious.

The Prime Minister, who suffers from gout, did not attend the Japan-South Pacific Forum Nations summit in Tokyo earlier this month because of health reasons.
