SUVA, Fiji (November 7, 1997 - Radio Australia)---Fiji's international airline, Air Pacific, has signed a ten-year commercial agreement with Australia's airline, Qantas.

Air Pacific's acting chief executive, Ramendra Narayan, says the agreement will help build a closer working relationship between the two airlines.

Under the agreement, Air Pacific and Qantas will cooperate closely in engineering, marketing, scheduling, freight and fuel purchasing activities.

The two airlines have worked together since 1973 and have code-share arrangements on a number of Pacific routes.

Narayan says the new agreement will help both airlines operate more profitably and will further develop inbound tourism to Fiji.
