PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea (December 4, 1997-Radio Australia)--- The international freight company, DHL, has called on the Papua New Guinea government to reverse its decision canceling recently approved Sydney-Port Moresby cargo flights.

DHL, which began the flights Monday, has been informed that its license now has been suspended.

PNG officials told Questair, the company which provides DHL's aircraft for the route, that the aviation ministry is investigating PNG's air service agreement with Australia.

DHL spokesman Peter Taylor says there was no warning the government was withdrawing permission to fly to Port Moresby, adding that "They are suspending the operation, pending further legal opinion and interpretation."
