5,500 CASES OF SPAM FOR TYPHOON PAKA HOMELESS ON GUAM

HONOLULU, Hawaii (January 7, 1998 - PIDP/CPIS)---More than 5,500 cases of the tinned food welcomed throughout the Pacific --Spam-- has been donated by the U.S. manufacturer, Hormel Foods, to the Salvation Army for distribution to victims of Typhoon Paka on Guam.

First to receive the processed pork product will be those left homeless by Paka and now living at the Guam government’s Liheng Ta shelter.

Hormel, a Minnesota company, also has donated cases of other foods in addition to Spam.
