PORT VILA (January 26, 1998 - PACNEWS)---Asian Development Bank officials are holding consultative group meetings in Tokyo this week with representatives of the Federated States of Micronesia, Kiribati and the Marshall Islands.

The purpose of the meetings is to enable the international donor community to better coordinate assistance in the three Micronesian countries in efforts to better promote economic and public sector reforms.

Discussions will focus on how to develop the private sector as well as public sector investment programs.

Donor countries include Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand and the United States. International organizations include the Commonwealth Secretariat, Forum Secretariat, IMF, World Bank and the United Nations Development Programme.
