SUVA, Fiji (March 27, 1998 - PACNEWS)---Air New Zealand has been granted permission by the Fiji government to operate non-stop service between Nadi and Los Angeles.

The flights, utilizing wide-body Boeing 747 aircraft, will begin operation April 2, Fiji's Island Networks Corporation reports.

Air New Zealand's Manager for Fiji, Greg Shanaghan, says "it is a very exciting development," as the new Los Angeles flights also will continue on to Europe, providing one-stop service between Nadi and both London, England and Frankfurt, Germany.

The new round-trip services, he adds, are a further indication of Air New Zealand's commitment to the development of Fiji's tourism industry.
