SOLOMON ISLANDS - AUSTRALIA FLIGHTS TO INCREASE

HONIARA, Solomon Islands (April6, 1998 - Radio Australia)---Increased air services between the Solomon Islands and Australia have been announced by Solomon Airlines and Qantas.

Flights by the two airlines between Honiara and Brisbane will expand from three to five flights weekly next year, with direct flights between Honiara and the Australian cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Townsville and Cairns to be added.

An air cargo operator flying between Australia and the Solomon Islands, Pacific Air Express, also plans increased service. Current flights between Honiara and Cairns will be expanded to include other Australian and Pacific Island destinations.
