TAIWAN PREMIER SIEW TO VISIT SOUTH PACIFIC

TAIPEI, Taiwan (June 9, 1998 - Radio Australia)---Taiwan's Premier, Vincent Siew, will visit Tonga and the Solomon Islands next month.

It will be Mr. Siew's first visit to Taiwan's diplomatic allies in the Pacific, since he took office last September.

Mr. Siew will attend celebrations for the King of Tonga's 80th birthday in Nuku'alofa.

And he'll attend celebrations to mark the 20th anniversary of independence in the Solomon Islands.
