SOLOMONS GOVERNOR GENERAL PITAKAKA IN AUSTRALIA FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION

HONIARA, Solomon Islands (June 26, 1998 - PACNEWS)---Solomon Islands Governor General Sir Moses Pitakaka, who left the country for a two-week medical check up in Brisbane, Australia still has not arrived back in the Solomon Islands after five weeks.

Doctors in Honiara have declined to comment on Sir Moses’ illness or health condition.

The governor general's private secretary, Sam Tagana, says all he was told was that Sir Moses is still in Brisbane undergoing medical observation, and he does not know when the governor general will return.

Sir Moses left Honiara May 22 for what was said to be a regular medical check-up, accompanied by his wife Lady Lois and aide-de-camp Captain Moala Panda.
