SUVA, Fiji (August 11, 1998 - PACNEWS/Tuqiri)---The leader of the Fijian Association Party, Josevata Kamikamica, has given his approval to begin talks with the Fiji Labor Party and Party of National Unity to form a political coalition.

Kamikamica, recovering from a mild stroke, is likely to forego tomorrow's coalition meeting at which a number of important issues are expected to be resolved, including a name for the coalition and the specifics of a new constitution.

The meeting, to be attended by the executives of the three parties, also will see the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, which will establish the foundation for the coalition's platform.
