HONIARA, Solomon Islands (September 9, 1998 - PACNEWS)---Solomon Islands Chief Justice Sir John Muria will hand down a decision tomorrow on the court case filed on behalf of the government against Governor General Sir Moses Pitakaka's proclamation summoning a special meeting of Parliament.

Submissions to the High Court concluded late yesterday evening.

Attorney General Primo Afeau, representing Prime Minister Bartholomew Ulufa'alu, asked the court to determine whether it is lawful for the Governor General to summon a special sitting of Parliament when a specific date already is set for the next meeting.

The special session, originally planned for today, was called solely to introduce and debate an Opposition motion of no confidence in the Alliance for Change government.
