SAMOAN BEER WINS INTERNATIONAL AWARD

PAGO PAGO, American Samoa (September 11, 1998 - Samoa News)---Samoa brewed Vailima Beer is victorious once again!

Competing against 133 other beer products from 57 worldwide breweries at the 1998 Monde (World) Selection in Brussels, Belgium, Vailima Lager Beer triumphantly won the Gold Medal Award, according to a press statement issued by Vailima’s corporate offices in Apia, Samoa.

Among its competitors were prestigious brands such as Steinlager, San Miguel, Lion Red, DB Export Gold and DB Export Dry.

The Monde Selection is an independent international institute founded in 1961. It tests and selects products from all over the world. It is particularly well known for the great variety of product categories it evaluates. These include wines, spirits and liqueurs, waters, soft drinks, cereal based products, chocolates, biscuits and other food products.

Mr. Fomai Lei Sam, General Manager of Samoa Breweries, Ltd., said "This award belongs to our staff, who strive every day for quality in everything they do. Consistent high quality is one of the hallmarks of our system that sets us apart in the eyes of the consumers."
