SOLOMON ISLANDS TO OPEN TWO NEW CONSULAR OFFICES, CLOSE ONE

HONIARA, Solomon Islands (October 28, 1998 - PACNEWS)---The Solomon Islands is planning to establish consular offices in Malaysia and Taiwan, where representation now is on an honorary basis only.

Negotiations with both Asian governments are under way to open permanent offices in the capitals of Kuala Lumpur and Taipei.

Meantime, the Solomon Islands Consulate office in Brisbane, Australia will close on Saturday.
