PORT VILA, Vanuatu (November 3, 1998 - PACNEWS)---Prime Minister Donald Kalpokas has emphasized the importance of his government's commitment to the Comprehensive Reform Program (CRP) to ensure its success.

Kalpokas today assured over 200 community leaders attending the National Summit on the program in Port Vila that CRP is intended to develop and improve the lives of all the people of Vanuatu. The program aims to better existing branches of government to help the country run more productively and efficiently

The Prime Minister says that everyone must work together and show strong leadership to make the reform programs work.

He explained that recent changes of some government ministers took place because those officials were not fully committed to the CRP.

Parliament and other various other state and government offices, Kalpokas said, need to provide stronger and higher standards of leadership.

The Attorney General and Public Prosecutor need to improve the delivery of law and order, stressed the Prime Minister.

Health services were also singled out for special attention.
