NUKU‘ALOFA, November 10, 1998 - PACNEWS)---Tonga's Ha‘apai island group received scattered rain last weekend after six months of severe drought.

Heavy rain was reported in the main Lifuka region where most people live. However, the Governor of Ha‘apai, Honorable Fielakepa, said water is still needed on the outer islands, which received very little rain or only cloudy skies.

Meanwhile, the vessel MV Voea Lomipeau has been rescheduled to depart Nuku‘alofa today for Ha‘apai with 1.4 million liters (364,000 gallons) of potable water.
