HONIARA, Solomon Islands (December 30, 1998 - PACNEWS)---The future of the Solomon Islands Planned Parenthood Association (SIPPA) is in doubt following a decision by the International Planned Parenthood Federation to stop funding assistance next year.

SIPPA Executive Director Cherry Galo Planned Parenthood is no longer paying salaries for himself and another officer.

He says the government and other donors have helped fund SIPPA's services this year.

The situation was compounded following this year's dissolution of the Pacific Islands Planned Parenthood Association, to which regional family planning associations are affiliated.
