GOVERNOR WALTER SIGNS CHUUK AIRPORT CONTRACT

WENO, Chuuk (February 11-24, 1999 - The Island Tribune)---Late last month, Chuuk Governor Ansito Walter signed a contract with an engineering company, Sea Tech Engineer, Inc. of Thailand, to make improvements to Chuuk's airport.

The contract calls for the provision of engineering design and construction management for the rehabilitation of the runway, taxiway, and parking apron at Chuuk International Airport, according to Chuuk State Director of Planning and Statistics Rokucho Billy.

At a $992,000 initial cost, the Thai company will make a structural evaluation of the existing pavement, provide detailed engineering designs, technical specifications and bidding documents for the work, and provide full construction management and quality control services during construction.
