SUVA, Fiji Islands (March 8, 1999 - Radio Australia)---An earthquake has shaken northern Fiji.

Measuring 5.6 on the Richter Scale, the quake was widely felt Monday morning in the town of Labasa, on Fiji's second largest island of Vanua Levu.

There have been no reports of serious damage.

The earthquake's epicenter was located five kilometers (three miles) offshore, east of the island's northernmost point.

Another earthquake measuring 6.3 was felt in the same area last year.
