BRITISH HIGH COMMISSIONERS OFFICE IN HONIARA REMAINS OPENED

HONIARA, Solomon Islands (April 30, 1999 – PACNEWS)---The British High Commission in the Solomon Islands says it will not close its office in capital, Honiara.

Acting British High Commissioner David Jones made the statement after the British Government announced it was considering closing some of its diplomatic missions.

Jones said London had decided to retain the Honiara office so it could continue to monitor projects being financed under British Aid.
