FIJI INDIANS REMEMBER ARRIVAL OF INDENTURED LABORERS 130 YEARS AGO

SUVA, Fiji Islands (May 13, 1999 – Daily Post/PACNEWS)---Fiji Indians living in Australia will celebrate the 130th anniversary of the arrival of indentured laborers to Fiji on May 15.

A five-hour cultural program in Sydney will be presented by the Fiji-Indian Social and Cultural Association of Australia (FISCAA).

Local university academic Professor Subramani and former Fiji parliamentarian Karam Ramrakha will be guest speakers at the celebration. The program also will include traditional Indian dances and music.
