SUSPENDED AMERICAN SAMOA SENATOR APPOINTED TO MINIMUM WAGE BOARD

PAGO PAGO, American Samoa (June 1, 1999 - Samoa Times)---Three American Samoans will sit on the six-member panel of the Committee to review the minimum wage rates in the Territory, including Jubilee Chairman Senator Moaaliitele Tuufuli, according Deanne Amaden, spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL).

Senator Moaaliitele Tuufuli was recently suspended from his office over the Jubilee overspending of more than $500,000.

The Minimum Wage Committee consists of two members each to represent the public sector, employers and employees.
