RAROTONGA, Cook Islands (June 7, 1999 - Radio Australia)---Cook Islands Health Minister Tupou Faireka wants to see the health system in the islands centralized again.

He says splitting the health budget and resources between the capital Rarotonga and Ministry of Outer Islands Development for the other islands is not working. The Minister says the centralization of health under one budget will allow him to monitor and solve problems related to drug supply in the outer islands.

Plans for the unified budget will be tabled in Parliament after this month's general election.
