RAROTONGA, Cook Islands (June 28, 1999 - PACNEWS/CITV)---The Cook Islands Party (CIP) and the New Alliance Party (NAP) are poised to meet this week to discuss the make-up of the proposed new Government.

The coalition between NAP's Norman George and Sir Geoffrey Henry's CIP gives them a majority of 15 seats, with the Democratic Alliance Party holding nine seats.

The last seat in the 25-member Parliament to be declared, the Pukapuka-Nassau seat, has resulted in a tie vote and has been referred to the Cook Islands High Court for a recount.

Meanwhile, Sir Geoffrey, who is to remain Prime Minister under current arrangements, has not yet confirmed his list of cabinet ministers. However, Norman George is expected to be named Deputy Prime Minister.
