HAGÅTÑA, Guam (July 21, 1999 – PACNEWS/Radio Australia)---A stockpile of mustard gas dating back to World War II has been discovered on Guam.

Local reports say the chemical artillery shells loaded with the gas were discovered this week.

Experts in weapons disposal are flying to the U.S. north Pacific territory to see how the gas can be disposed of safely.

Mustard gas was never used by either the United States or Japanese sources during the Pacific war, but it was known to have been manufactured and stockpiled.
