SUVA, Fiji Islands (August 20, 1999 – Radio Australia)---Air Fiji has taken delivery of a new 30-seat passenger plane for its service to neighboring Tuvalu.

The airline, one of two domestic carriers in Fiji, has secured exclusive rights to provide air service between Fiji and Tuvalu for the next five years.

The new regional service by Air Fiji, the first for the airline beyond the Fiji Islands, has been named "Pacific Link."

Air Fiji has scheduled two-weekly flights, providing Tuvalu with essential air-links to the outside world following the cessation of Air Marshall Islands flights in April.
