SUVA, Fiji Islands (October 6, 1999 – Radio Australia)---Fiji's former Ambassador to the United Nations and now Agriculture Minister, Poseci Bune, has described as nonsense, an auditor's finding that he received excessive payments.

The finding was part of the Auditor's Report on the Fiji Government's expenditure for last year, tabled in Parliament.

It alleges that Mr. Bune authorized himself allowances amounting to close to $6,000 dollars in March this year, as well as $12,000 to an airline to transport his personal effects and official files.

The report says those expenditures were not authorized and that Mr. Bune should reimburse the money already paid out.

But Mr. Bune says it appears there has been some misunderstanding on the part of the Auditor General.
