CHICAGO, Illinois (February 4, 2000 – Radio Australia)---The Bring Our Ancestors Home Foundation has asked the Chicago Museum to return 10 boxes containing the ancestral remains of the Chamorro people of Micronesia.

Foundation president Norbert Perez wrote to the museum, invoking two Native American acts to support his call for the return of the remains. They are believed to have been collected during anthropological expeditions in the 1920s and 1930s.

Last year, the foundation was successful in repatriating Chamorro remains from the Bishop Museum in Hawai‘i.
