PAGO PAGO, American Samoa (February 23, 2000 – Radio Australia)---The village mayor, Vila Tufele, has called for increased security to try to stop prostitution in the local port.

He told the Samoa Post that prostitution is very much alive in the port and involves crewmembers taking minors on board their vessels.

The mayor sounded the alarm after a 16-year old girl was taken aboard a purse seiner by a fisherman who was recently charged with rape.
