Reproductive Health Project

National Institutes of Health of Safety (NIHS), seeks the services of a highly experienced project manager to manage the implementation of a three-year UNFPA Pacific Regional Adolescent Reproductive Health Project. The position is Suva based and is for a three-year contract.

Duties and responsibilities:

· Manage the ARH Project including: participating in a design mission, assisting with the preparation of a project design document, recruiting advisers, negotiating sub-contracts for project components, purchasing equipment and resources, and establishing financial management systems

· Monitor, evaluate and report regularly on the status of all project activities and maintain records of activities, achievements, limitations and financial accountability

· Undertake Project co-ordination with country, regional and donor agencies

· Recruit and supervise the Project Finance/Administrative Assistant and Project Secretary. Manage the running of the Suva-based Project Office.

Applicants must have a relevant tertiary qualification and at least five year experience in project management of development projects. Experience in health or social sectors would be an advantage. Computer skills and proficiency in report writing are essential. He/she should be prepared to travel extensively within the Pacific Region, work long hours when required and be able to work efficiently under pressure.

Salary: The salary range is FJ$45,000 to FJ$50,000. Conditions are in accordance with Fiji local labour conditions and as such, the successful candidate will be recruited under an NIHS service contract.
