PAGO PAGO, American Samoa (June 30, 2000 - Samoa News/PINA Nius Online)---The Attorney General’s Office is investigating allegations that a local restaurant/nightclub in Atuu is secretly operating an illegal massage parlor.

Assistant Attorney General and Legal Counsel to the Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Board, Melissa Raymond, said the allegations are being investigated by the ABC Board.

A report by Liquor Inspector Ieti Yandal said the nightclub employs 20 to 30 Asian women as waitresses who also give massages at the restaurant and in another location in Fagaalu.

The women reportedly came from China and stayed in countries such as Fiji, Samoa and Tonga before migrating to the U.S. territory. They are sponsored by three local residents whose names are being withheld.

The report also alleges that the restaurant offers various sexual services for patrons at prices ranging between $75 and $200.
