The problems in Fiji and Solomon Islands are successfully making the headlines worldwide for the last month or so. Is there any collective official statement issued by the Pacific Forum Nation Leaders either condemning, praising/supporting or questioning what is happening? Or is this suppose to be domestic and no one will say anything?

I hope the Pacific Island Nations associated themselves as such did not do so for ceremonial and political reasons only. A good neighbor should not shy away or ignore a commotion next door. He/she should say something or help for the sake of the other neighbor.

The silence is ironically deafening.
