PROPOSAL TO FUND URGENT FSM CHOLERA PREVENTION PROGRAM

PALIKIR, Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia (July 7, 2000 – FSM Information Service)---A proposal to fund an urgent cholera prevention program to be implemented by the FSM Red Cross has been transmitted to the FSM Department of Foreign Affairs.

On July 5, President Leo A. Falcam sent the proposal, which is seeking about $41,435 from the Australia government under its Small Grants Scheme, for a Health Delegate for three months to continue the ongoing prevention and education campaign; cholera prevention flyers in English and Pohnpeian; a bulletin board; a flip chart; banners; posters with photos and graphics; and billboards, to the Department of Foreign Affairs after its review by the FSM Department of Economic Affairs.

The President wrote in his transmittal letter that the proposal should be transmitted to the Australian Embassy in Pohnpei.
