TARAWA, Kiribati (Oct. 17, 2000 - Radio Kiribati/PINA Nius Online)---The cash flow problem affecting outer island copra societies has been resolved after the government provided another $400,000 to the Copra Society in Betio, which was then distributed to the outer islands copra cooperatives.

The Abemama Member of Parliament, Baitongo Taburimai, said his island's three cooperatives had been supplied with the funding they needed.

The MP said he found out after tracing the cause of the problem, that the

President had signed the payment warrant last month, but its transfer to the

Copra Society was misplaced in another account.
