TONGAN KING WANTS TOBACCO ADVERTISING BANNED

NUKU‘ALOFA, Tonga (October 28, 2000 – Radio Australia)---The King of Tonga, Taufa’ahau Tupou IV, has called for a ban on television tobacco advertising.

The King said tobacco is a "dangerous product" that should not be promoted.

He said the country’s residents should join together in promoting good health and clean living by stopping the consumption of "lethal products" such as tobacco, alcohol and drugs.
