DEADLINE: JANUARY 4, 2001

Pacific Islanders in Communications (PIC) and KPBS-San Diego Public Television seek edit assistant for public television documentary production, Skin Stories (w.t.), scheduled for post-production March through June 2001 in Honolulu, Hawai'i.

Skin Stories (w.t.) will be an in-depth look at the Pacific origins of tattoo. Through the personal stories of Pacific Islanders in Aotearoa, Samoa, and Hawai'i, we will learn how tattoo has shaped tradition and sparked personal and cultural revival.

Co-Producer/Director and Editor: Lisa Altieri Co-Producer/Director: Emiko Omori

Edit Assistant (1 position) Term: March to June, 2001

The edit assistant will work with the Editor and Producer/Directors, assisting in all aspects of post-production.

Responsibilities include: Logging and cataloging tapes, arranging the program library, coordinating dubs, assisting in the digitizing process and in online preparation, and assisting in archives.

Excellent communication and organizational skills required, along with the ability to problem-solve.

Previous AVID experience preferred.

Must have drivers license and clean driving abstract.

Reports to Editor.
