KOROR, Palau (January 12, 2001 – Radio Australia)---Police have seized nearly $500,000 worth of marijuana after a raid at a plantation in Angaur state.

Narcotics chief Theodore Subris said officials received a map of the location from an anonymous source late last month. But he said poor weather meant they could not raid the site until two days ago.

He said about 500 marijuana plants were seized in the raid.

No one was arrested because the growers had apparently fled before authorities arrived.
