HONIARA CLEAN UP UNDER WAY

HONIARA, Solomon Islands (January 31, 2001 - Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation/PINA Nius Online)---The Honiara City Council is appealing to all city residents to assist the council by cleaning their own surroundings.

Council works officer Philip Viria said workers last week started cleaning drains and cutting grass along the main and feeder roads in the city.

It is part of the effort to return the city to normal life following the Townsville Peace Agreement ending the ethnic conflict on Guadalcanal.
