FRENCH POLYNESIA, NEW ZEALAND NEGOTIATING AIR LINKS

PAPE‘ETE, French Polynesia (February 6, 2001 - Oceania Flash/SPC)---Negotiations between French Polynesia and New Zealand officials aimed at reaching an agreement on air links started here Tuesday, the French Polynesian government announced.

The bilateral talks are focusing on allowing a fourth Air New Zealand flight to London via Pape‘ete, thus increasing the number of potential tourists to the French territory.

Another item high on the agenda is a possible code-sharing agreement between French Polynesia's flag carrier, Air Tahiti Nui and one or more airlines operating out of New Zealand.
