PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea (March 2, 2001 - Post-Courier/PINA Nius Online)---Papua New Guinea Culture and Tourism Minister Samson Napo has expressed concern about the work of dive boat operators in Milne Bay Province.

Mr. Napo made the comments while addressing the opening of a dive eco-tourism workshop in Alotau.

"I am not happy with reports of some dive operators, especially those who do live-aboard dive operations," Mr. Napo said.

"Milne Bay has perhaps the greatest potential of becoming a great tourism destination and the resource owners or stakeholders should be the first to benefit from any operations."

He said dive operators were not serious about spreading the tourist kina.

He said they caused a lot of anxiety in the local communities.
