TUVALU'S AIR FIJI PURCHASE BEING FINALIZED

FUNAFUTI, Tuvalu (March 7, 2001 – Radio Australia)---Tuvalu intends to finalize its purchase of majority shares of Air Fiji, Fiji's domestic airliner, by next month.

While the tiny Pacific island has signed its commitment to buy into the carrier, the transaction has yet to be sealed.

Tuvalu's Secretary to Government said the money to seal the deal will be made available during parliamentary approval of the country's national budget, which is scheduled for April.
