PAGO PAGO, American Samoa (April 6, 2001 - Samoa News/PINA Nius Online)---American Samoans have been given the message that teen pregnancy prevention is a community responsibility.

The message was repeated by church groups, church leaders and guest speakers during the kickoff of "Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month."

The month-long program is sponsored by the LBJ Hospital Family Planning Program and the Family Planning Coalition of America Samoa.

Opening activities, which were held at the Lee Auditorium in Utulei, consisted of several church groups providing spiritual and Christian messages.

A couple dozen parents and high school students participated in a panel discussion on the topic of teen pregnancy.
